SUNSET AMPHITHEATER
The City of McKinney is moving forward with VENU (formerly Notes Live) on the construction of the Sunset Amphitheater—a spectacular $300 million, 20,000-seat open-air entertainment venue. Situated on a massive 46-acre site at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and S.H. 121, the project is officially projected to bring an estimated economic impact of roughly $3 billion to the area over its first decade and support more than 1,300 direct and indirect local jobs.
Designed to serve as a premier destination for major national touring artists, the state-of-the-art amphitheater features a fully covered canopied roof with advanced heating and cooling systems to ensure multi-season comfort. The upscale layout includes over 250 luxury fire pit suites, designated reserved seating, and a spacious landscaped grass berm. Following foundational infrastructure phases, the flagship entertainment venue is targeted to officially debut for the 2027 touring season.
MCKINNEY NATIONAL AIRPORT
McKinney National Airport is undergoing a historic transition from a premier general aviation hub into a fully certified commercial service airport. Construction is nearing final completion on a brand-new, 46,000-square-foot commercial passenger terminal on the east side of the airfield.
The airport has officially secured a five-year agreement with Avelo Airlines as its first commercial carrier. Nonstop commercial flights are scheduled to officially launch on November 11, 2026, connecting McKinney directly to five major destinations, including Las Vegas, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Fort Myers. Alongside the initial four-gate terminal (expandable to six gates), infrastructure improvements include a newly constructed Taxiway C, a traffic-managing FM 546 roundabout, a 500-foot runway extension, and permanent hangar facilities for the Texas Department of Public Safety.
LITEON NORTH AMERICAN TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS (New High-Value Add)
In one of the largest economic development victories for the region, global technology leader LITEON has officially selected McKinney for its new North American advanced manufacturing and engineering campus. The project includes the acquisition and build-out of over 650,000 square feet of industrial space within the newly developed Core5 Logistics Center.
Brought to fruition through close collaboration between the city, the state of Texas, and the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, this massive technology campus will inject hundreds of high-wage, highly skilled engineering, advanced manufacturing, and tech sector jobs directly into the local economy. The arrival of an international tech giant highlights the long-term institutional confidence in the McKinney/Collin County corridor and stands as a major long-term catalyst for local residential real estate values.
